Synergetics

Synergetics is an interdisciplinary field of research that studies the spontaneous, i.e. self-organised, formation of structures in systems far from thermal equilibrium as well as in non-physical systems.
Synergetics has shown that there are general principles which govern large classes of seemingly quite different phenomena in a variety of fields, provided the macroscopic state of a system changes dramatically. In this way, synergetics may be considered as some contribution in an attempt at unifying science.
